A key challenge at LOWI is lee-side turbulence and windshear, especially with easterly winds over the mountains. In v1.20, wind variability is scripted but lacks dynamic gust layers. During simulated approach runs (wind 290° at 25 knots, gusting 35), the FSX flight model produced only linear airspeed deviations (±5 knots) instead of the realistic ±15–20 knots seen in real-world approaches.
