Set against the turbulent political landscape of early 1960s France, The Day of the Jackal tells the story of a professional assassin known only as "The Jackal" (Edward Fox). After a failed assassination attempt on French President Charles de Gaulle by the OAS (a French terrorist group), the organization decides to hire an outsider.
