This version is the result of a deep collaboration between Square Enix and NVIDIA. It was one of the first major titles to push the boundaries of real-time graphical fidelity on PC.

Officially, the Royal Pack (expanded Insomnia, boat travel, first-person mode, Armiger Unleashed, new bosses) was partially free for Windows Edition owners. v1138403 includes of that content. It lacks the "Final Chapter" additional cutscenes (added in v1261414) but retains the expanded Insomnia map and Cerberus fight.
