The film follows Ajay Bakshi (Shah Rukh Khan) and Ria Banerjee (Juhi Chawla), two ambitious, ego-driven news reporters competing for the title of "Prime Time Ki Rani" and "Shahenshah-e-Akbaar." Forced to work together after being fired, they stumble upon the murder of an innocent man (Mohan Joshi) framed for terrorism. They use their media skills to turn the trial into a live television spectacle to prove his innocence.
