The film is set in the 1970s and follows the story of Kabir Khan (played by Salman Khan), a young man who dreams of becoming a hockey player. Kabir is a talented player, but his career is put on hold when he suffers an injury. With the help of his coach, Dattaraj (played by Paresh Rawal), Kabir joins the Indian National Hockey Team and helps them win the 1975 Hockey World Cup.
