In a departure from the high-ranking military or corporate protagonists of previous films, Romulus centers on scavengers looking for a way off their dying colony planet. Their journey leads them to the "Renaissance" station, divided into two modules: Remus and Romulus. As they attempt to recover cryostasis equipment, they inadvertently trigger the station's security protocols and the birth of the Xenomorph threat.
