The story follows Patricia Langley (Shannon Tweed), whose life is shattered after her husband Truman commits suicide following a failed corporate promotion. Blaming the man who received the partnership instead, Alex Weston (played by director Andrew Stevens), Patricia adopts a new identity as "Amanda Chessfield".
