: Showcased a more contemporary and experimental side of her fashion repertoire during the mid-2000s.

Vindhya believes that fashion is an expression of one's personality and should be a reflection of who you are. She is known for her bold and confident approach to fashion, often experimenting with different styles and trends. According to Vindhya, fashion is not just about wearing clothes; it's about making a statement and feeling good about yourself.

: In her early career and major public events, Vindhya frequently opted for traditional silk sarees, particularly Kanchipuram styles. Her look often featured high-contrast borders and heavy gold jewelry, a staple for Tamil cinema leads.

To separate Vindhya from the six yards of fabric is impossible. While her contemporaries treat the saree as a red-carpet obligation—often pre-draped, pinned, and stiff with cancan—Vindhya wears it as if she was born in it. Her signature is the Kasavu saree. Whether she is promoting a film in Kochi or attending a wedding in Chennai, the off-white fabric with the gold border is her armor.

: Highlighting the earthy, classical dance looks from Sangamam .

However, Vindhya’s genius lies in subversion. Look closely at the gallery images: she pairs the traditional Kerala saree with a sleeveless, high-neck black blouse. Or, she drapes a vintage Kanjivaram with a distressed leather belt at the waist. She refuses to be a museum piece. In one striking editorial shot, she wears a classic white cotton saree, starched to perfection, but accessorizes it with chunky silver oxidised jewellery and combat boots. That friction—between the agrarian, the sacred, and the rebellious—is where her style lives.
