The story kicks off on Christmas Eve when Kumar mistakenly receives a package intended for Harold. When he attempts to deliver it, a massive marijuana joint inside the package accidentally burns down Harold’s father-in-law’s prize-winning Christmas tree. The two embark on a chaotic, drug-fueled quest through New York City to find a replacement tree before Harold’s fearsome father-in-law, Mr. Perez (Danny Trejo), discovers the disaster.
